A raincoat is not just a raincoat. This coat doesn't just make sure that you stay dry the next time the rain pours down, but it was also designed, developed and produced to have minimal effects on the environment. The SYMPATEX® material, waterproof up to 45,000 mm, is made from recycled polyester and the coat itself is free of toxic materials such as PFC, PTFEs and PFOAs as well as being bluesign certified. Because of the high accuracy in sorting the materials, the coat can also be recycled again after use. Three pockets give you enough space for your hands, mobile phone, spare change and a packet of tissues. The adjustable waistband, sleeves and hood make sure that you're protected against the wind and the storm. The recycled mesh lining also makes the coat extra lightweight and easy to pack up.
Recycled and with carbon offset production: we're proud to be one of the first sportwear and streetwear brands to offer functional coats with completely carbon neutral manufacture together with the membrane producer SYMPATEX® and the climate change advisers ClimatePartner.
How does carbon offset work?
Despite our choice of environmentally conscious materials and partners, greenhouse gases are inevitably released during our production process. To keep CO2 emissions as low as possible, bleed uses only recycled or biodegradable materials in its collections, considers the amount of water consumption and uses electricity produced by renewable sources.
As production for the SYMPATEX® Rain Shell Coat takes place in China, transportation distances are longer. That's why we wanted to go a step further: together with SYMPATEX® and ClimatePartner we calculated our environmental footprint produced by manufacturing the coat and balanced it out again by supporting a forest conservation project in Kenya.
