Plant-Powered Clothing

"We need more variety – both on our body and in the cultivation phase! You see, alongside cotton there is a whole range of plant-based fibres that are not only functional and comfortable on your skin, but also have advantages for the agricultural sector, such as no pesticides and minimal water consumption."

Plant-based comfort

In our current spring/summer collection, innovative new material mixes made from hemp and linen join forces with old favourites such as organic cotton, modal (TENCEL™), lyocell (TENCEL™), cork and kapok.

This creates fabrics that are particularly nice to wear, look pretty special, and need minimum water consumption for their production. Our styles that are 100% plant-based are grouped under the term „Plant Powered Products“.

#homegrown by nature:

The majority of the beech trees used by Lenzing® to create the modal (TENCEL™) fibres are grown in Upper Franconia, a stone’s throw from our own front door.

But you can also find other exciting material mixes in our new collection: linen is combined with organic cotton and lyocell (TENCEL™), while hemp and modal (TENCEL™) are also mixed with the classic organic cotton.

That means the decision you have to make in front of your wardrobe every morning is also getting more exciting: will you start the day with a sweaty bike ride through the city? Then the eucalyptus cellulose Lyocell (TENCEL™) could be the perfect thing for your skin. This is because it keeps your body dry with its breathable texture and, unlike cotton, does not absorb sweat.

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? In that case, it’s probably best you go for a cosy, soft shirt made from Kapok. This natural fibre is hollow and voluminous, which means it helps regulate your body temperature.

Differences to growing cotton

Alternatives to cotton are not only interesting due to their individual characteristics, but they also have various advantages in the area of sustainability. Whether they require less water in the cultivation phase or have a robust composition that is naturally protected against potential pests without any toxic chemicals, variation in cultivation is useful in many cases.
