Climate change? Not with us!

Climate neutral company 2019

Because we compensate for the greenhouse gas emissions of the whole Headquarters, located in Helmbrechts, we are a climate-neutral company and we also strive to raise awareness of climate protection.

It's not 5 to 12, but rather already 4:30, considering the state of our planet. With our daily actions and our products, we want to help ensure that we can continue to use our space.

bleed x Climate Partner

Since 2018 we have been working together with Climate Partner. A provider who has set itself the task of helping companies of all kinds calculate and reduce CO2 emissions, implement climate protection strategies and offset CO2 emissions through some outstanding climate protection projects.

For the year 2018, we had the corporate carbon footprint calculated for the entire company at our Helmbrechts site, located just outside the Franconian Forest. The value calculated is very important to us and helps us continue to work on our climate protection strategy in the future. We as a whole and each individual employee can help avoid unnecessary emissions, to reduce already existing emissions or even to monetarily offset emissions which we simply cannot avoid.

In total, we produced 57 tonnes of CO2 in 2018. This includes such things as our fleet, employee transport, train rides, printing, water and much more. 57.0 tons of CO2 may seem a bit abstract to you. To give you a sense of what this value means and what you can compare it with, let's have a look at a few examples:

... a journey of

176.945

km by car

... the annual CO2 footprint of

7

European citizens

... the annual CO2 absorption of

4558

beech trees

What are we doing about it and what can you do?

Quite a lot, actually: So, using the results, we can try to find out where most CO2 emissions come from. Since we are based in the country and the public transport is unfortunately not very well connected, employee commutes produce the most emissions. To reduce this, we have increasingly encouraged carpooling, travelling by bicycle and to try as often as possible to travel by train.

Of course, there are emissions that we simply cannot avoid. But here, too, we have found a solution. We compensate for the CO2 emissions by supporting some truly great projects.

Over the next few years, however, we want to further improve these figures and reduce CO2 emissions. For example, we also have products that are completely carbon-neutral. Such as our Sympatex jackets, Better Climate Sweater and matching socks.

We want to show you that it can also be a lot of fun to integrate a sustainable way of life into everyday life. Here are just a few ways you can easily reduce your carbon footprint.

How can I reduce my carbon footprint?

Consumption is the keyword. Instead of throwing things away, it's time to share and repair.

Buy regional and more importantly seasonal products. This way you not only reduce your carbon footprint, but also supports your local farmers.

There are super delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes you can try. Try a recipe next time you meet up with friends.

Unplug devices instead of leaving them on standby. Pay attention to it in the future.

If possible, use public transport, carpool or dust off the good old bike.

If you want to know what your own carbon footprint looks like, then you can easily find out here.
